Romans Parts 1-39

The letter to the Romans is one of the most influential books ever written. Augustine, Luther, Calvin and Wesley are just a few of the people whose lives were changed and who, in turn, changed whole nations.

It is Paul's fullest explanation of his preaching of the gospel. It explains the message of salvation for both gentiles and Jews. It explains how gentiles do not have to adhere to the precise details of the law of Moses, although they certainly do fulfil the requirement of the law to love God.

It is a very orderly letter which sets out man's need, what God has done and, in a very practical manner, how we should live. It explains clearly how the nation of Israel fits into God's plan to reach the entire world.

Paul wrote this letter to introduce himself to the church at Rome which he hoped to visit on his way to Spain.
